On 21st April we celebrated Karyn's birthday with an event we called the "Purple Picnic" at Mount Edgecombe Country Park. This was one of her favourite local places to walk and relax with family and friends. We could see the hill at Edgecumbe and the stone folley from our window at Brewhouse, Royal William Yard and Karyn had set herself a challenge of walking to the top upon her recovery from the chemotherapy. The picnic was with many of our friends and we all wore something purple (her favourite colour) and even brought purple foods and drink. The sun shone for long enough for us and we all had a special day with lots of laughs and children running wild and enjoying life.
