Wendy and I leapt from a perfectly good aircraft at 15,000ft and raised 1,500 pounds for St. Luke's Hospice for all the wonderful work they do in caring for people in their last weeks of life. The text below is from my fundraising page: On the 20th August 2012, I will be jumping out of an aircraft at 15,000ft over Devon, England to raise funds to support St. Luke's Hospice in Plymouth. Karyn was suffering from bowel cancer and the hospice provided a gentle, caring and professional home from home for her and our family and friends when they visited. Her room had panoramic views over the sea and across to Plymouth and Dartmoor and the nurses were like little angels in blue uniforms in the level of gentle care, compassion, attentiveness and dignity that they provided her in her time of need. It was a place that we spent many hours and sleep overs! and were always welcomed and even fed by warm-hearted staff and volunteers. St. Luke's relies on donations for 70% of its operating costs and needs to raise over 9 million pounds a year. In appreciation of their work to support Karyn and our family and for people in the future that require palliative care, I am prepared to risk my life!! to help them to reach their fundraising targets. Please help me to help them. Many thanks. Simon xxx
